We believe a good cocktail at a neighborhood tavern shouldn't be hard to find. We want it to be commonplace. Our cocktail tavern is a place you can come in after work, with your friends, or by yourself and get high quality spirit and service. Our goal is to spread knowledge and passion for classic cocktails, as well as serve great wine and distinctive beer in an unpretentious setting.

Barry and Millicent Bucknor have a reputation for their food. Millicent, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, loves cooking for big gatherings of family and friends. Barry, who hails from Montego Bay, Jamaica, makes a jerk chicken recipe that everybody enjoys.

Now his dream is a reality with the opening of Jerk Hill Café. And the passion that he and Millicent bring to their food, as well as the thought and planning they have put into starting the business, seem to bode well for this humble outpost of Jamaican home cooking.

Us siblings, Carlos and Mirna Alvarado emigrated to the U.S. carrying a vision of one day opening up our very own small restaurant. After several years of working in the downtown D.C. restaurant industry, and hard work and perseverance, San Alejo was established in 2016. San Alejo aims to provide an authentic connection of it's Salvadorean roots to the public of the DC/MD area.

Our first location opened its doors in 2005 in the city of Gaithersburg. In July 2008 El Comalito's second location opened in Takoma Park, followed by it's third location in Riverdale Park in the summer of 2012.

Since its founding, El Comalito as it's best known, has won over the hearts of the Salvadoran community in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area as well as the American clientele who's always looking to submerge into other cultures and diversify.
